This Saturday, November 6, An Taoiseach Micheál Martin will officially open DojoMór 2021 where 20,000 students from primary and secondary schools around Ireland, will learn how to code in a fun and exciting virtual conference centre.

These “free coding workshops” from DojoMór 2021, funded by the Higher Education Authority of Ireland, will be running online from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, November 6th, offering a range of fun and educational activities to suit all ages and interests.

Offaly County Council is delighted to be involved in DojoMór once more in 2021. This is a nationwide, online, coding fun-day for young people aged 7 to 17 where they can learn to create a simple game, build a website, programme electronics, create music and develop 3D models using computer-coding techniques.

Greatly inspired by CoderDojo, this event is an amazing opportunity for young people to be exposed to and to learn practical and valuable skills, which they will take with them for life.

“Events like DojoMór are about laying the groundwork to inspire and educate young people to be the next generation of Irish coders, while at the same time, doing so in a fun and creative manner. I have been a strong supporter of helping young people to explore coding, right from the earliest days of CoderDojo in Ireland, as I believe that expertise in coding will be a big part of our county’s success in the future.” – An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin commented ahead of the event.

Bookings are open. For more information and to book, visit www.dojomor.ie
