WKU Continuing and Professional Development will be offering bootcamps in partnership with Promineo Tech to enhance the tech workforce in Kentucky. These bootcamp programs not only prepare students to fill entry-level roles in a quickly growing sector, but also provide skills to help them continue to grow.

“We are pleased to partner with Promineo Tech to provide topical, focused training for these in-demand skills.  There are many bootcamps available, these provide the content and support for students to succeed in the real world with no prior tech training,” said April McCauley, Lifelong Learning Coordinator for CPD.

Bootcamps provide an accelerated track to a career in technology. Students will focus on mastering practical skills that hiring managers look for when filling entry level roles. The bootcamps offered at WKU are career focused and help to train the adult learner with the skills and technologies that they need to become competitive applicants within the IT industry.

“We’re very excited to partner with WKU Continuing and Professional Development to bring affordable coding and technology bootcamp programs to residents of Kentucky,” said Nick Suwyn, President of Promineo Tech. “Everyone should have the opportunity to explore careers in technology if that’s their desire, and these programs will help make that possible.”

WKU will offer Front End Software Development, Back End Software Development, Big Data Engineering, and Digital Marketing bootcamp programs. The virtual classroom encourages real connections between students, instructors, mentors and industry professionals to help facilitate their learning and navigate their career path.

Increasing the accessibility of tech education is pivotal in this time where there is a growing demand for tech talent. These bootcamps train students to break into the tech industry and stand out in today’s job market.
